From the most Global illegal trade, wildlife trade is the 4th biggest, with people making 7.8-10 billion dollars. It isn’t people just killing a few animals (which is still a problem), it's people going out and killing hundreds of animals. Some of the people that trade and earn money from wildlife trade might also be involved with drugs, illegal gun trade, and even human trade. We’re not just talking about people that are only trading animals but about dangerous people. Most of them are trained. They have little consequences, which makes them think that it's not a big risk. Sometimes the law is strong but it’s not a political priority, so the rangers and other organizations are not getting the support needed. These people bribe judges, rangers and even villagers, so they can let them camp in a safe place. Up to 1,000 rangers in 10 years get killed to protect these animals!

I have created a club, (GMSA), that its purpose is to help animals from Pet Shops, that are not suppose to be petted. Me and my friends what presented at the school theater a presentation, and have presented and talked to students about how important this topic is, and but we need to do. And last, we made jars and decorated them. We collected money and gave it to WWF. We also had a table in my school Christmas bazaar where we also collected money for the Tigers and Pandas.

MY STORY

POACHERS & TRADING IS DANGEROUS

“Wildlife Trading is not for fun, or for selling animals. People need to realize how horrible and wrong this is.”

“Wildlife trading is usually found in Asia and Africa. Are you living there? Do something.” Click here:

WHAT RANGERS SAY...

Poachers are dangerous, they will come in armed looking for a rhino, or animals.  These people won’t resist and not taking the shot and killing you if you’re in their way. These people are armed with night vision goggles, armed with refuels. We’re talking about vehicles with heavy guns, basically war fighting equipment.”

"We urgently need the UK to take a stand for elephants, continue to demonstrate global leadership and implement a ban without delay.  Such a commitment will send a strong message that the UK refuses to play any part in the illegal ivory trade. The world will be looking to London as we host the next illegal wildlife trade conference in 2018. It is vital that we continue to take a strong stance on this illicit activity.”

UK Ivory-domestic Ivory

In the UK there is a domestic ivory market. This need to end. Because of people (business people-smugglers) every 25 min. an Elephant is killed in Africa. This means that about 57 Elephants die each day.Even if the Uk government has made rules striker, it's not enough for the UK ivory to stop.

The good new is that in some countries ivory trade has reduced. China, which has the biggest legal and illegal ivory trade said that they will end the domestic trade by the end of 2017. The Uk is also doing the same thing, as well as Hong Kong which is closing the domestic market.

Even is the domestic trade closes, this will not be enough for illegal ivory trade to stop. Government all over the world are trying to improve or make stricter laws. People can earn up to 12$ billion. This is a serious crime and very organized crime that needs to stop.

In China, we welcome increased action in controlling the ivory trade in the UK to contribute to global solutions to stop illegal ivory trade and thus elephant poaching.  Antique ivory in the UK is used as a legal source for traders in Asia, especially in China. China has now banned the import of antique ivory from Europe. It’s essential that the UK also adopt a strong ban to help to reduce the demand for ivory in China’s market.- Zhou Fei, Head of TRAFFIC China and Wildlife Trade Programme of WWF China
